Opening up the Schedule

So considering what Carrie said in the comment box on my last post I have been thinking a lot about just opening up my schedule to include morning routine, homeschooling, afternoon routine and evening, rather than 1/2 hour or 1 hour increments.

This is what it looks like for me and is actually very much what our days have been like for the past 2 weeks since I've been trying to become more diligent in my home life.

  • 7:30 Breakfast and family devotions followed by set chores.
  • 8:30 Homeschooling (this will include computer time for the boys and Jayden's piano lesson).
  • 12:00 Lunch followed by quiet time downstairs or outside. (I hope to catch up on housework or computer time while they play).
  • 2:00 Go for a walk or spend time indoors playing with the boys, (crafts, coloring, puzzling, games) followed by more housework or free time for me and playtime (or 1 movie) for the boys.
  • 5:15 Dinner followed by set chores and then the evenings plan (depending on what day it is) For example: Movie night, games night, bath night, etc.
  • 7:00 Boys in Bed.
How does that look?

I like it.

And obviously the afternoons are very open to change, especially if we need to go to town, visit friends, have friends over, etc.

Flexibility is a good thing as well! :)
