Remember the story by Dr. Suess, "Bartholomew and the Oobleck."?
Well, today the boys and I decided to try to make some Oobleck. We mixed 2 parts cornstarch with 1 part water, added some food coloring and tah-dah!
"OOBLECK!"
It was really, really interesting and I must admit I got in there, as well, with my hands!
It kept Jayden busy for quite a while, but it took some coaxing to get Marcus to even touch it. "It smells awful!" he kept exclaiming, so him and Allan just had fun experimenting with the food coloring.
"Look, mom! Blue and red make purple!" he says with shining eyes and big grin.
I'm just loving these quiet/noisy, busy/slow, messy/cozy days of winter with my children around me.
Home.
This makes me smile. We did a bit of this kind of stuff this holiday and even though I tire easily of all the noise and mess, it is always worth it in the end. Especially when they reward you with a big smile and a spontainious huge.
